Classic Margarita cocktail recipe

A Margarita is a popular cocktail made with tequila, lime juice, and triple sec (an orange-flavoured liqueur).

It is typically served in a salt-rimmed glass and can be blended or shaken. The drink can also come in many flavors such as strawberry, mango and raspberry. The Margarita is often served as a cocktail at Mexican-themed restaurants and is a popular drink at parties and events.

Here is a classic Margarita recipe:

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 oz triple sec
  • Salt (for rim)
  • Lime wedge (for garnish)

  1. Rim a chilled glass with salt by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and then dipping it into a plate of salt.
  2. In a shaker, combine the tequila, lime juice, and triple sec.
  3. Shake with ice and strain into the salt-rimmed glass.
  4. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.
Note: You can also blend the ingredients with ice to make a frozen Margarita.

You can also play with ingredients and make it a little sweeter or add a touch of agave syrup to balance the acidity of lime juice.
