Bootstrap was created at Twitter in mid-2010 by Mark Otto and Jacob Thornton. It was released as an open source product in August 2011 on GitHub. Prior to being an open-sourced framework, Bootstrap was known as Twitter Blueprint. A few months into development, Twitter held its first Hack Week and the project exploded as developers of all skill levels jumped in without any external guidance. Bootstrap is a sleek, intuitive, and powerful, mobile first front-end framework for faster and easier web development. It uses HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
